A man claims he suffered injuries after a driver struck him while he was working as a security guard.
Jared Peyman filed a lawsuit Sept. 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Robert Bryant and Ryan Cannon.
In his complaint, Peyman alleges he was working as a security guard at the Hustler Club at 5420 Bunkum Road in Washington Park on July 7, 2012, at about 3:54 a.m. when Bryant, who was driving a 2003 Nissan X-Terra, struck Peyman several times.
Because of the incident, Peyman suffered pain and discomfort, incurred medical costs and was physically limited, according to the complaint.
He blames Bryant for causing his injuries, saying he negligently failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision and drove too fast.
In addition to Bryant, Peyman names Cannon as a defendant, saying he negligently lent his vehicle to Bryant.
In his complaint, Peyman is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Nathan C. Lanter of Nelson and Nelson in Belleville will be representing him.
