Woman says two people hit her in traffic accident

A St. Clair County woman says she was hit twice by two different people while driving in Swansea.

Avonjana Moore-Thomas filed a lawsuit July 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Latoya D. Rayford and Joshua T. Dietz.

Moore-Thomas says she was driving south on Boul Avenue in February 2012. While stopped at the intersection of Highway 159, she claims she was rear-ended by a car driven by Rayford. As they were pulling their vehicles to the shoulder of the road, according to the complaint, Moore-Thomas's vehicle was hit again by a car driven by Dietz.

Moore-Thomas accuses defendants of negligence and asks for more than $100,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and court costs. Attorneys Robert J. Radice and Michelle E. Radice represent Moore-Thomas. They request a jury trial.
