A woman claims she sustained injuries after a driver failed to yield the right-of-way and struck her vehicle.
Christyl Goodnetter filed a lawsuit Aug. 6 in Madison County Circuit Court against Alicia Mockler.
In her complaint, Goodnetter alleges she was driving through a green light at the intersection of Governor’s Parkway and South State Route 157 in Madison County on Nov. 8, 2011, when Mockler, who was trying to turn left onto South State Route 157, struck Goodnetter’s vehicle.
Because of the collision, Goodnetter suffered severe injuries and pain, lost wages and her enjoyment of life and experienced pain, suffering and disability, according to the complaint.
Goodnetter blames Mockler for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to yield to oncoming traffic, failed to yield the right-of-way, failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, failed to keep a proper lookout to avoid an accident, made an improper left turn and failed to exercise reasonable care.
In her complaint, Goodnetter seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Matthew P. Young of The Kuehn Law Firm in Belleville will be representing her.
