Highland McDonald's owner sued over woman's slip and fall

A woman claims she suffered various injuries after she slipped on the floor of a McDonald’s.

Eva Moss and her husband, Rodney Moss, filed a lawsuit Aug. 5 in Madison County Circuit Court against C-Mac.

In her complaint, Eva Moss alleges she was visiting a McDonald’s at 105 Suppiger Lane in Highland on June 1 at about 3:30 p.m. when she slipped on water on the floor, causing her to fall.

Due to her fall, Eva Moss was permanently injured, was unable to pursue her gainful occupation, experienced great pain and suffering and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint.

Her husband claims he lost his wife’s society, support, companionship and fellowship.

Eva Moss blames C-Mac, which owns McDonald’s, for causing her injuries, saying it caused moisture to remain on the floor where it knew patrons would walk, failed to inspect the floor to discover the source of the water and failed to clean up the water, among other negligent acts.

In her complaint, Eva Moss seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

Jon Shelton and Joseph T. Madrid of Shelton and Madrid in St. Louis will be representing her.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 13-L-1311.
