A St. Clair County woman is accused of defaulting on more than $60,000 in mortgage and home equity loans.
Associated Bank filed a lawsuit July 15 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Karen Myles, also known as Karen Myles-Johnson.
According to the complaint, Myles signed a promissory note and security agreement in June 2006 and later defaulted on the mortgage. The bank alleges there is a balance of more than $47,000 in principal, plus interest.
Myles also allegedly took out a home equity loan in August 2006 and failed to make the required monthly payments. A balance of more than $14,500, plus interest, remains on the loan, according to the bank.
Associated Bank asks for a judgment of more than $61,000 plus interest and court costs. Attorney J. Gregory Scott of Decatur represents the bank.
