A Belleville gymnastics center is being sued by an employee who says she fell through a trampoline.
Tina M. Alexander filed the lawsuit July 15 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Hulliung Gymnastics Inc., doing business as World Class Gymnastics Center, and Family Sportsplex Inc.
Alexander says she was hired by Hulliung Gymnastics as an instructor at its Mascoutah Avenue facility inside the Family Sportsplex. On March 22, according to the complaint, Alexander was assisting students on the trampoline when her left leg fell through an opening on the edge of the trampoline.
Alexander claims there wasn't any protective padding covering the perimeter of the trampoline to prevent someone from falling through it. She alleges her foot and leg were injured. Alexander accuses the gymnastics center and the owners of the building of negligence. She asks for more than $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, lost wages and court costs.
Attorney Bernard J. Ysursa of Belleville represents Alexander.
