A man says he was hurt when the car he was riding in was rear-ended in a multi-car crash in St. Clair County.
Mark Stein filed a lawsuit July 1 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Erika Stein, Phyllis Castic and Lisa McDonald.
According to the complaint, Stein was a passenger in a car heading south on Frank Scott Parkway on Jan.31. At the same time, Erika Stein was also driving south and near the intersection of Illinois Route 15 when her car allegedly slid to the right and hit a retaining wall. While trying to avoid Erika Stein's sliding car, Castic, also heading south, allegedly crashed into the back of the car Mark Stein was riding in.
Mark Stein claims that crash caused McDonald to rear-end Castic which pushed Castic's car again into the back end of the car Mark Stein was riding in. Mark Stein says his neck, shoulder and back were hurt in the crash. He accuses the defendants of negligence and asks for more than $150,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court fees.
