Ameren and its driver sued over Cahokia accident

A St. Clair County man says he was hit by a utility truck when the driver tried to turn left in front of him at an intersection in Cahokia.

Carlos Vaughn filed a lawsuit July 1 St. Clair County Circuit Court against Bert Taylor and Ameren Illinois Company.

Vaughn says he was driving north on Illinois Route 3 in August 2012 as Taylor was driving an Ameren truck south on the same road. Vaughn claims at the intersection of Illinois Route 159 Taylor tried to turn left in front of him and crashed into the side of his car.

Vaughn accuses Taylor and Ameren of negligence and asks for more than $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, lost wages and court costs.

He is represented by attorneys Thomas C. Rich, Kristina D. Cooksey and Michelle M. Rich of Fairview Heights.
