An Alton bar is being sued by a customer who claims she was knocked down during a fight between two men.
Arta Vetter filed a lawsuit against Fast Eddie's Bon-Air Inc. July 3 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Vetter says she was visiting Fast Eddie's bar on East 4th Street in July 2012 when a fight broke out between two men. According to the complaint, Vetter was knocked to the ground during the altercation and was hurt. Vetter alleges the men were drunk after being served alcohol by Fast Eddie's employees.
Vetter claims Fast Eddie's is liable for her injuries. She accuses the bar of violating Illinois' Dram Shop Act. She also accuses the business of negligence for failing to provide enough security.
Vetter asks for more than $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court costs.
She is represented by attorney Gregory M. Tobin of East Alton.
