An Alton law firm has filed suit against its former office manager, alleging she stole more than $75,000 from it.
MeyerJensen formerly known as Meyer Law Firm claims defendant Denise Davis allegedly embezzled more than $75,000 from the law firm while she was working as its office manager.
“On numerous occasions while employed in her capacity as office manager, defendant Denise Davis prepared checks to be payable to herself or for her individual purposes and using a signature stamp presented the checks and received payment therefore,” the suit filed July 12 in Madison County Circuit Court states.
In its complaint, MeyerJensen is seeking a judgment of more than $75,000, plus punitive damages of more than $100,000, costs and other relief the court deems just.
