Motorcyclist accused of failing to yield to auto in Route 111 accident

A Brighton man is accused of trying to make a left turn and causing a crash while riding his motorcycle in Wood River.

Leonard Jackson filed a lawsuit against Dale S. Robertson June 17 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Jackson says he was driving a Mercury Grand Marquis south on Illinois Route 111 on April 28. Robertson, riding a Harley Davidson Sportster north on Route 111, tried to turn left onto Edwardsville Road, according to the complaint. Jackson claims Robertson failed to yield to the Marquis and crashed his motorcycle into the car.

Jackson says he was hurt in the crash and accuses Robertson of negligence. He asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and court fees.

Attorney Samuel A. Mormino of Alton represents Jackson.
