Two Belleville residents claims their insurance company refuses to compensate them for losses they sustained when their house was robbed.
Kandace A. Gotto and Eric T. Ortiz filed a lawsuit June 7 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against State Farm Fire and Casualty Company.
In their complaint, the plaintiffs allege they filed a claim with State Farm after a thief robbed their residence at 601 Winslow Rd. in Belleville on May 15. Although the plaintiffs have complied with the terms of their insurance policy through State Farm, the company has failed to make any payments, according to the complaint.
“As a direct and proximate result of the robbery and theft, plaintiffs sustained loss and damage to their personal property in the amount of $39,238.80,” the suit states.
In their complaint, the plaintiffs seek a judgment of more than $81,000, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Robert J. Radice and Michelle E. Radice of Horas, Radice and Kellett in St. Louis will be representing them.
