A St. Clair County man claims he suffered severe injury when a woman rear-ended his vehicle.
Cecil Rockett filed a lawsuit May 20 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Deborah McConnell.
In his complaint, Rockett alleges he drove west on Highway 50 near its intersection with Old Collinsville Road in O’Fallon on June 13, 2011, when McConnell rear-ended his vehicle.
Because of the collision, Rockett suffered severe injury and pain, lost wages and his enjoyment of life, experienced pain and suffering and endured disability, according to the complaint.
Rockett blames McConnell for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, failed to use evasive measures to avoid a collision and failed to exercise reasonable care.
In his complaint, Rockett is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Matthew P. Young of The Kuehn Law Firm in Belleville will be representing him.
