Shiloh driver sues over Green Mount Road rear-end accident

A driver is asking to be paid more than $100,000 after a chain reaction rear-end crash on a Shiloh roadway.

Kevin Pickard filed a lawsuit against Matthew A. Leslie and Donald G. Vandenbussche on April 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Pickard claims the defendants are responsible for a crash on March 23, 2012 in Shiloh. According to the complaint, Pickard was driving a 2003 Toyota north on Green Mount Road near the intersection with Frank Scott Parkway. Directly behind Pickard, Vandenbussche was driving a 2011 Ford followed by Leslie, who was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6.

Pickard says Leslie drove his Pontiac into the back of the Ford, causing the truck to collide with the Toyota. He contends both drivers were negligent for failing to take the steps necessary to avoid a collision. Pickard says he was seriously injured in the chain-reaction crash.

Pickard is asking both defendants to pay more than $50,000 in damages for disability and disfigurement, pain and suffering, medical bills, loss of income and loss of normal life. Attorney Kevin Boyne of Belleville represents him.
