Troy McDonald's sued over girl's alleged 'playland' injuries

The father of a Madison County girl says his daughter was hurt while playing at a McDonald's in Troy.

Eric Wakefield, on behalf of his minor daughter, filed a lawsuit April 22 in Madison County Circuit Court against McDonald's Restaurants of Illinois Inc.

Wakefield says his daughter was climbing on the play set of the McDonald Drive McDonald's in July 2012 when she tripped and hit her face on the structure.

Wakefield accuses the restaurant of negligence for failing to maintain a safe play environment. He asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses and court fees.

Attorney Gregory Tobin of East Alton represents the Wakefields.
