The relative of a deceased woman is suing the man that allegedly caused the crash that killed her in East St. Louis.
Armond Wilbourn, as special administrator of the estate of Latricia Wilbourn, filed the lawsuit April 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jeffery Paine and Vontrall Miller.
According to the complaint, Paine was driving a car owned by Miller south on 25th Street in December 2012. Wilbourn says Latricia was a passenger in a car heading north on 25th Street. Paine allegedly crossed the center line and crashed into the car Latricia was riding in. Wilbourn says the passenger died as a result of her injuries.
Wilbourn accuses Paine and Miller of negligence and wrongful death. He asks for more than $225,000 in damages and court costs.
Attorney Eric Kirkpatrick of Belleville represents him.
