Big Daddy's blamed by patron over alleged attack

The owners of an Edwardsville bar are being sued by a customer who was allegedly attacked by an intoxicated patron.

Patrick Jeffries filed a lawsuit April 5 in Madison County Circuit Court against Big Daddy's, Arthur Risavy, Steven J. Siebert, Timothy M. Bauer and James J. Sinovic Jr. Bubbaslicebone Inc., doing business as Big Daddy's Edwardsville, is also named as a defendant.

Jeffries says he was a customer of Big Daddy's in April 2012 when he was attacked by another customer who was allegedly drunk. Jeffries claims the owner of the bar, Risavy, and the owners of the bar's liquor license, Siebert, Bauer, Sinovic and Bubbaslicebone, are all liable for his injuries under Illinois's Dram Shop Act.

Jeffries asks for damages in excess of $300,000 for medical expenses and court fees.

He is represented by attorney Michael P. Glisson of Alton.
