A Madison County woman says she slipped on a wet floor while shopping at a Collinsville Walmart.
Daphyne Garrett filed a lawsuit April 1 in Madison County Circuit Court against Walmart Stores Inc., doing business as Walmart Supercenter.
Garrett says she was shopping at the Collinsville Crossing Boulevard Walmart in June 2012 when she slipped and fell on a liquid substance near the jewelry department. Garrett claims she hurt her back, leg and hand in the fall. She accuses the store of negligence and asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and court costs.
