A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims failed to keep a proper lookout and struck her vehicle.
Sara Schaaf claims she was driving a 2007 Toyota Avalon west on Frank Scott Parkway East approaching Old Collinsville Road when defendant Rachel Kriss, who was driving a 2007 Hyundai Tucson, rear-ended Schaaf’s vehicle.
Because of the collision, Schaaf suffered severe injury, experienced permanent pain and mental anguish, experienced disability and disfigurement and was permanently prevented from attending to her usual duties and affairs, according to the complaint filed March 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. In addition, she lost wages and incurred property damages, the suit states.
Kriss negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep proper control of her vehicle and struck Schaaf’s vehicle, the complaint says.
In her complaint, Schaaf is seeking a judgment of more than $75,000, plus costs.
Samantha S. Unsell of Keefe and Keefe in Belleville will be representing her.
