Granite City woman sues over rear-end accident

A Granite City woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims rear-ended her vehicle.

Deborah Knott claims she was driving east on West 25th Street on April 8, 2011, when defendant Amanda M. Sipp, who was driving east on the same road, struck the back of her automobile.

Because of the collision, Knott suffered physical injuries, incurred medical costs, lost wages, experienced disfigurement and disability and was restricted from pursuing her normal activities, according to the complaint filed March 28 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Sipp negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to reduce her speed, failed to control her vehicle, drove in a careless manner and failed to yield to the vehicle in front of her, the suit states.

In her complaint, Knott is seeking a judgment of more than $200,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

George H. Albers of Roth Law Offices in Granite City will be representing her.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 13-L-506.
