Coltate Capital sues over mortgage debt

An Oklahoma investment firm claims a Belleville woman owes more than $55,000 in mortgage payments.

Coltate Capital LLC filed a lawsuit Feb. 13 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Sharon Brahmbhatt.

According to the complaint, Coltate Capital bought the mortgage on Brahmbhatt's Katrine Lake Drive home in March 2008. In the original loan agreement, according to Coltate, Brahmbhatt borrowed $38,850 with the promise to repay the debt including interest and costs of collecting any unpaid balance.

Coltate claims Brahmbhatt has failed to pay and asks for a judgement of more than $55,000, in addition to attorney and court fees.

Coltate Capital is represented by attorneys Edward J. Blake and Megan M. Gilbreth of Belleville
