East Side Health District blamed for falling cubicle wall

A woman has filed a lawsuit claiming a cubicle wall fell on top of her at the East Side Health District office in East St. Louis.
Cheryl Stringer filed a lawsuit against East Side Health District on Feb. 27 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Stringer says she was at the East Side Health District offices on North 20th Street in East St. Louis on May 21, 2012. While sitting in an office space, "a cubicle wall collapsed and fell on" her, according to the complaint. Stringer says she received extensive injuries to her neck and shoulder.

Stringer accuses East Side Health District of negligence for creating unsafe conditions by allegedly failing to properly secure the cubicle and failing to warn about the possible dangers of falling walls. She is asking to be awarded more than $50,000 to compensate for medical expenses, pain and suffering.

Attorney John H. Hustava, of Collinsville, represents Stringer.
