Couple blames Thor Motor Coach for RV's alleged 'non-conformities'

A Madison County couple is suing the manufacturers of an RV that they claim is riddled with problems the company is unable to correct.

Charles Creekmore and Cheri Creekmore filed a lawsuit Feb. 8 in Madison County Circuit Court against Thor Industries Inc., doing business as Thor Motor Coach Inc.

The Creekmores say they bought a motorhome in Arkansas in August of 2011. They purchased the Thor Challenger Motor Coach new with the intent of using it for recreation at home in Illinois, according to the complaint. The couple claims the RV, still under warranty, was "out of serve by reason of repair of non-conformities for a total of days in excess of 30 business days during the statutory warranty period."

The Creekmores contend Thor Industries is obligated to provide them with a new vehicle to replace the one they bought or refund the full purchase price. The couple claims they have attempted to resolve the issue through an informal settlement procedure but says the manufacturer was unable to correct the problems.

The Creekmores ask that Thor Industries be ordered to make adequate repairs or provide them a full refund in excess of $50,000 for the purchase of the motorhome.

Attorney G. Edward Moorman of Alton is representing them.
