A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims rear-ended her vehicle.
Yosuk Meade claims she was driving west on Poplar Street Bridge in St. Louis on May 14 at about 8:45 a.m. when defendant Michael Franklin, who was driving in the same direction, struck the back of her vehicle.
Because of the collision, Meade sustained low back, shoulder, arm and neck injuries; incurred medical costs; suffered disability; and experienced pain and suffering, according to the complaint filed Jan. 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. She also lost wages and endured an impaired earning capacity, the suit states.
Franklin negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner as to collide with the back of Meade’s vehicle, failed to properly apply his brakes, drove too fast, drove too closely to Meade’s vehicle and drove without adequate brakes, the complaint says.
In her complaint, Meade is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
She will be represented by John H. Hustava of Collinsville.
