A woman claims she sustained severe injuries after she fell while shopping at Walmart.
Susan Sledge claims she was shopping at the Wal-Mart located at 2608 Green Mount Commons in Belleville on June 4 at about 11 a.m. when she fell on a wet floor.
Because of her tumble, Sledge was hindered from participating in her usual activities, lost wages, suffered pain and anguish and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint.
Sledge blames Wa-Mart for causing her injuries, saying its employees allowed a wet floor to exist, created a wet aisle, used slippery flooring and failed to warn of the slippery floor, among other negligent acts.
In her complaint, Sledge seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Mark C. Scoggins of Crowder and Scoggins in Columbia will be representing her.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 13-L-5.
