Pro Bono Committee and MCBA provided 181 appointments in 2012

The Third Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee and the Madison County Bar Association provided 181 free appointments for low income residents of Madison County in 2012.

Other figures provided by the group show that during the fourth quarter, 34 volunteer attorneys provided 51 appointments.

Attorneys who volunteered at the legal advice clinic from October through December included Will Asa, Robert Bas, Beth Bauer, Brenda Baum, Eric Carlson, Andrew Carruthers, Jack Cranley, Angela Donohoo, James Drazen, Janel Freeman, Mary Albert Fritz, Julie Harper, Jennifer Hightower, Joseph Hill, Christopher Hunter, David Jones, Patrick King, Christine Kovach, Bonnie Levo, Martin Mengarelli, Robert Raleigh, Erin Reilly, Holly Reese, Jeremy Sackett, Maureen Schuette, Joan Spiegel, Gail Stipes, Michael Swanson, Christopher Threlkeld, Julie Tracey, Mary Beth Williams, Ron Williams, Leslie Wood and Beverly Yang.

Lawyers who joined the committee during the fourth quarter include Jo Anna Pollock of the Simmons firm, David R. Jones from Jones Law Office and Janel Freeman, in practice with attorney Edward Unsell.

Free 30-minute appointments may be made with the Madison County legal advice clinic for family law or general civil topics. Criminal appointments are not handled.
