Fatal crash on Troy-O'Fallon Road leads to suit

The estate of a deceased St. Clair County woman is being sued after she allegedly caused a head-on crash while driving in Troy.

Kerry Moore filed a lawsuit Jan. 9 in Madison County Circuit Court against the estate of Geralyn Wolfersberger.

According to the complaint, Moore was a passenger in a car heading south on Troy-O'Fallon Road in November 2012. At that time, Moore says Wolfersberger, driving north on Troy-O'Fallon Road, crossed the center line causing a crash.

Wolfersberger died as a result of the crash.

Moore, who was pregnant at the time of the crash, accuses Wolfersberger of negligence and willful and wanton conduct. She seeks more than $150,000 in damages for medical expense, loss of income and court fees.

Attorneys D. Todd Mathews and Randy L. Gori of Edwardsville represent Moore. They ask for a jury trial.
