A man has filed suit against the driver who he claims crossed the center line and struck the front of his vehicle.
Marco Roman claims he was riding in a vehicle driving north on Highway 111 near its intersection with Theikler Road in Pontoon Beach on Oct. 20 when defendant Michael Carney, who was driving south on the same road, crossed over the center line and struck the front of Roman’s vehicle.
Because of the collision, Roman was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled; suffered injuries to his head, mouth, neck and left arm; incurred medical costs; and suffered disability, according to the complaint filed Dec. 31 in Madison County Circuit Court. He also experienced pain and suffering and lost wages, the suit states.
Carney negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to properly apply his brakes, drove too fast and drove on the wrong side of the mountain, the complaint says.
In his complaint, Roman is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Thomas C. Rich, Kristina D. Cooksey and Michelle M. Rich of Fairview Heights will be representing him.
