A Monroe County jury has awarded plaintiff Keith Radford of Waterloo more than $3.2 million over injuries he sustained in a February 2010 altercation at the Fourth Street Bar & Grill in Waterloo, according to a report in the Republic-Times.
The verdict was reached on Nov. 29 and is believed to be a record high award in a Monroe County civil suit, according to the newspaper and a caller to the Record.
The Republic-Times reported that Radford claimed he was beaten by co-defendants Scott and Thomas Van Buren and thrown out of the bar on Feb. 27, 2010. As a result, he suffered serious injuries, including brain damage.
Belleville attorney Rhonda Fiss represented Radford.
The newspaper also reported that attorneys from Crowder & Scoggins in Columbia represented defendants.
