A Madison County man says an Alton woman rear-ended him while he was driving in Wood River.
Brad Grotefendt filed a lawsuit Sept. 17 against P. Anita Rittenberry in Madison County Circuit Court.
Grotefendt was driving his Dodge Caravan east on Edwardsville Road in September 2010, according to the complaint, when he came to a stop at a traffic light at North 9th Street. After coming to a stop, Grotefendt says he was hit from behind by a Jeep Cherokee driven by Rittenberry. Grotefendt claims he was hurt in the crash.
Grotefendt accuses Rittenberry of negligence and asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and benefits along with court costs.
He is represented by attorney Charles R. Scanlon of St. Louis.
