I-55 accident subject of Madison County suit

Quigg

A man has filed suit against the driver who he claims rear-ended his vehicle.

Gregory J. Doran claims he was driving north on Interstate 55 near post 25 in Pin Oak Township on Nov. 9, 2010, when defendant Robert D. Hinrichs, who was driving in the same direction, struck the back of his vehicle.

Because of the collision, Doran sustained injuries to his neck, back, shoulders and arms; experienced pain and suffering; and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed Aug. 13 in Madison County Circuit Court. He also sustained a permanent disability, lost his normal life and lost earnings, the suit states.

Doran negligently drove too fast, drove in an improper manner, failed to keep control of his vehicle and failed to decrease his speed to avoid a collision, the complaint says.

In his complaint, Doran is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Leo W. Quigg Jr. of Fuller and Quigg in Decatur will be representing him.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-1268.
