A hearing set May 30 in a Madison County case against the law firm run by the late Lance Mallon and his successors has been continued.

Plaintiff Dawna Hale, a former associate of Mallon & Hale, claims she wasn't properly paid for work she did during Mallon's illness. Mallon died Nov. 11, 2010, following a battle with lung cancer.

Hale filed suit in 2011 against Jeanette Mallon, the representative of Lance Mallon's estate, Keith Short, Mallon & Short, the successor to Lance Mallon's previous law firm, Jennifer Rushton, and Mark Goldenberg.

Circuit Judge Dave Hylla presides.

He has set a June 27 case management conference to begin at 9 a.m.

Hale is seeking damages in excess of $40,000 and other relief.

John Dale Stobbs represents Hale.

Keefe represents Short, Rushton, and the Mallon & Short firm.

Joseph Brown represents Jeanette Mallon and Goldenberg.
