An Alton bar is being sued after a woman allegedly slipped and fell on a wet dance floor.

Tamara Cooper filed a lawsuit May 25 in Madison County Circuit Court against Bubby and Sissy's Inc.

According to the complaint, Cooper was at the Belle Street bar in January to celebrate New Year's Eve. Shortly after midnight, Cooper says she went to the dance floor and slipped on some champagne that was spilled on the floor. She claims she hurt her back when she fell.

Cooper accuses Bubby and Sissy's of negligence for allowing customers to take drinks onto the dance floor and allegedly failing to clean up the spilled champagne. She asks for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses, lost wages and court fees.

Attorney Lanny Darr of Alton represents Cooper.
