Glen Carbon tanning salon sued by woman claiming she was videotaped in the nude

A woman who claims she was illegally videotaped without clothing on at a Glen Carbon tanning salon is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages from the alleged perpetrator and the business.

Kimberli Moore filed suit May 16 in Madison County Circuit Court against Michael R. Collins, who she claims used his cell phone to videotape her on April 3 at the Image Sun Tanning Salon at 6654 Edwardsville Crossing Dr.

"...Michael R. Collins knew that a high probability existed that this conduct would cause severe emotional distress and said conduct did, in fact, cause severe emotional distress to plaintiff," the complaint states.

Moore is represented by William L. Wimmer of Wimmer, Stiehl and McCarthy of Belleville.

She also is suing the tanning salon owner, JWKW Enterprises, claiming it failed to construct its booths with walls that extended high enough to prevent the conduct at issue in the complaint.

Madison County case number 12-L-686
