A St. Clair County woman says she was hurt when she slipped on a wet floor in a Belleville restaurant.
Rosemarie Fricke filed a lawsuit April 23 against West Main Cafe in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
The alleged injury happened in August 2011 at West Main Cafe while Fricke was waiting in line to buy her food, according to the petition. As she stepped to the front counter, Fricke says she slipped in standing water on the floor. She allegedly hurt her knee, left arm and back in the fall.
Fricke accuses West Main Cafe of negligence for allegedly failing to remove the water from the restaurant floor and failing to warn diners of the danger. She is asking for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, loss of income and court costs.
John H. Hustava, of Collinsville is representing Fricke.
