The Third Circuit's nine elected judges have appointed Wood River personal injury attorney Donald M. Flack as Madison County's newest associate judge.

Flack replaces Associate Judge Nelson F. Metz, who retired April 6.

Flack earned his law degree from St. Louis University in 1998.

He has been an assistant Madison County State's Attorney since 2010.

Since 2008, he has operated Flack Law Office. Before that, he was an associate attorney with the firms of Pratt & Tobin, P.C and Korein Tillery.

Flack is a trustee for the Village of Bethalto.

He serves on the Local Rules Committee for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and is a current member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Madison County Bar Association (Treasurer, 2010), and past member of the American Bar Association.

He is a founding member of the Bethalto Education Foundation and was voted the inaugural president, as well as co-founder of Bethalto Eagles Baseball and Softball Club. He has been involved in Rotary International, Bethalto Boys and Girls Club, Tri-County Baseball League (President, 2010), and Bethalto Village Charities.

Flack has been married to his wife Gillian for 19 years and they have three children. Flack and his family are active members of the Cornerstone Church in Bethalto, where he teaches high school age students. His wife works in the nursery and with special needs children.
