A Clinton County corporation has filed suit against the building group and man that it claims failed to repay it more than $50,000.
Hoelscher Interiors alleges it lent $54,781.17 to defendants LRT Building Group and Tyrus M. Webb in October 2011. LRT and Webb promised to repay the money through 36 monthly payments of $1,521.70 beginning on Nov. 1, 2011, according to the complaint filed March 23 in Madison County Circuit Court.
However, the defendants have failed to make the payments, the suit states.
"There is due and owing from Defendant to Plaintiff the entire unpaid balance of the Promissory Note in the principal sum of $54,781.17 and liquidated damages equal to 10 percent of all overdue payments," the complaint says.
In addition to the money it says it is owed, Hoelscher is seeking other relief the court deems just.
It will be represented by Dayna L. Johnson of Greensfelder, Hemker and Gale in Belleville.
Madison County Circuit Court case number: 12-L-360.
