A man claims he sustained neck, shoulder and back injuries after a driver rear-ended his vehicle, causing a multi-car collision.
Marvin Hsie filed a lawsuit Sept. 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jason Fisher.
In his complaint, Hsie claims he stopped for traffic as he was driving east on Wherry Road in Belleville on Oct. 6, 2009, when Fisher, who drove behind him, slammed into the back of his vehicle. In turn, Hsie rear-ended the vehicle in front of him, according to the complaint.
In addition to his injuries, Hsie became sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled and incurred medical costs, the suit states. He also experienced disability, pain and suffering and lost wages and his wage earning capacity, the complaint says.
Hsie blames Fisher for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner as to strike the rear of Hsie's vehicle, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control and failed to properly apply his brakes, among other negligent acts.
In his complaint, Hsie is seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
James R. Williams of Williams, Caponi and Foley in Belleville will be representing him.
