James K. "Jim" Monday, 62, of Collinsville, died Sept. 15, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Monday resigned March 28, 2006 as Madison County's Director of Administration from Madison County Government after 23 years.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle R. "Shelly" (Soles), daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and David Reed of Edwardsville; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Laurabree Monday of Charlotte, N.C.; stepson and wife, Brian and Jamie Haldeman of Caseyville; four grandchildren, Daniel Reed, Joshua Reed, James Haldeman and Ethan Monday; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Diane Monday of South Dakota and Scott and Tina Monday of Plainfield.
In addition to his father, James C. Monday, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Michael Charles Moore.
Funeral services were held Monday at Irwin Chapel in Glen Carbon with Reverend Chris Shurilla officiating. Burial was at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
