A St. Clair County man and wife claim they were hurt in a multi-car crash on Interstate 64.
Elaine and Charles Robinson filed a lawsuit Feb. 16 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Willie Davis and Henry Willis.
The Robinsons say the crash happened as they were driving west on I-64 in East St. Louis Township. After passing the 25th Street on-ramp, the couple says Davis was trying to merge into the center lane of traffic when he allegedly crashed into a car being driven by Willis. The impact allegedly spun Willis' car into the Robinsons' vehicle. Elaine Robinson says she was seriously injured in the crash. .
The Robinsons accuse both defendants of negligence for failing to take the necessary actions to avoid the collisions. They are asking for more than $200,000 in damages for medical expenses and court costs.
The couple is represented by attorney Justin B. Mattea of Collinsville.
