A St. Clair County couple and their daughter claim they were hurt when the driver of an SUV allegedly rear-ended them.
Billy E. and Kimberly Russell, on behalf of their minor daughter, filed a lawsuit against Sharon Schriewer Aug. 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
The alleged crash happened as the Russells were driving south on the Frank Scott Parkway in September 2009. As the couple approached the intersection of Highway 159 in Fairview Heights, the man and wife claim Schriewer crashed into the back of them. The Russels say their daughter, who was one-year-old at the time, was hurt in the crash.
The Russells accuse Schriewer of negligence for allegedly failing to pay attention, failing to drive at a reasonable speed and failing to avoid the rear-end collision. They are asking to be paid more than $200,000 in damages for medical expenses and court costs.
Attorney Gregory M. Skinner of Belleville is representing the Russells.
