An O'Fallon company claims another business has failed to pay it more than $200,000 for products delivered to it.
Brookside Agra filed a lawsuit Aug. 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Uncle Ted Organics.
In its complaint, Brookside claims it executed an agreement on Feb. 28, 2007, with Uncle Ted in which it agreed to deliver products to the company. It would later provide Uncle Ted with an invoice for the products delivered, according to the complaint.
However, Uncle Ted has since ceased making payments to Brookside, the suit states.
"Defendant owes Plaintiff the sum of $280,034.12 as of August 3, 2011," the complaint says.
Although Brookside has demanded payment of the money, Uncle Ted has refused to reimburse the company, Brookside claims.
In addition to the money it says Uncle Ted owes it, Brookside seeks costs and other relief the court deems just.
Patrick B. Mathis and Laura E. Craft of Mathis, Marifian and Richter in Belleville will be representing it.
