A man has filed suit against his former employer, alleging he was not properly paid for overtime hours he worked.
Tod G. Whittaker alleges he worked more than 40 hours per week during the time he was employed by defendant Ace Grease Service from July 5, 2006, through March 21, 2010. However, he was not paid time-and-a-half for those hours, according to the complaint filed Aug. 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
"Defendant required Plaintiff to work without breaks and through his lunch without proper compensation," the suit states.
In his complaint, Whittaker is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000 for lost wages, unpaid overtime, attorney's fees and punitive damages.
Whittaker will be represented by Thomas O. Falb of Williamson, Webster, Falb and Glisson in Alton.
