A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims collided with her vehicle in Madison County.
Carol L. Crowson claims she was driving near the intersection of College Avenue and Homer Adams Parkway in Alton on July 11, 2009, when defendant Russell E. Wineburner collided with her.
Because of the collision, Crowson suffered severe and permanent injuries and damages and was hindered and prevented from attending to his usual duties and affairs, according to the complaint filed June 9 in Madison County Circuit Court. In addition, Crowson suffered great pain and anguish, the suit states.
Wineburner negligently failed to stop or swerve at the first sign of danger, drove without sufficient control, drove too fast, drove without keeping an adequate lookout, failed to drive with adequate brakes and failed to stop for a traffic signal, the complaint says.
In her complaint, Crowson is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Kenneth B. Beljanski of Brown and Brown in Fairview Heights will be representing her.
