A Madison County man claims he sustained neck, shoulder and back injuries after a driver rear-ended his vehicle.
Ryan K. Haselhorst filed a lawsuit May 23 in Madison County Circuit Court against Cameron R. Oestringer.
Haselhorst alleges he drove north in the 800 block of Poplar Street in Highland on Oct. 30, 2009, when Oestringer, who drove in the same direction, rear-ended his vehicle.
In addition to his injuries, Haselhorst incurred medical costs, sustained property damages and experienced pain and discomfort, according to the complaint.
Haselhorst blames Oestringer for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control and failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision. In addition, Oestringer negligently drove too fast, failed to keep his vehicle under control and failed to timely apply his brakes, the suit states.
In his complaint, Haselhorst seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
David H. Bone of Kassly, English and Bone in Belleville will be representing him.
