An East St. Louis man has filed suit against the driver who he claims struck his vehicle, causing him to sustain serious and permanent injuries.
Donald E. Danyus claims he was driving on Lazercheff Drive in Cahokia on May 27, 2009, when defendant Chealsey M. Bequette, who was driving on Dorcas Drive, struck him in the middle of an intersection.
In addition to his injuries, Danyus has experienced an impaired capacity to attend to his normal activities and has incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed May 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Bequette negligently failed to keep her vehicle under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to yield the right-of-way and failed to stop at a stop sign, the suit states.
In his complaint, Danyus is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
He will be represented by David H. Bone of Kassly, Bone and English in Belleville.
