A Madison County man is suing the driver of a car who allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed.
Nathan A. Brown filed the lawsuit May 2 in Madison County Circuit Court against Kyle L. Pruitt.
Brown says he was a passenger in a car being driven by Pruitt in August of 2010. Brown says the two were driving west on Illinois Route 143 near the intersection of Lock and Dam Way in Alton when Pruitt allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. Brown says the vehicle left the road and flipped.
Brown accuses Pruitt of negligence and asks to be awarded more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court costs. He is represented by attorneys S. Russell Meyer and Amy M. Meyer of Alton.
