Case management moved to June in suit against Knockers Bar and Grill

Matoesian

A case management conference in a battery suit brought against the owner of Knockers Bar and Grill in Collinsville has been reset to June.

Madison County Circuit Judge Andreas Matoesian signed an order March 30 moving the conference to June 29 at 9 a.m.

Plaintiff Steven Skoklo is suing Gary Lutman, the owner of Knockers, the bar, and National Laundry Equipment Company for damages in excess of $50,000 and costs.

Skoklo claims that while at the bar, he was struck multiple times when a fight broke out in
October 2007.

Skoklo claims that the defendants' negligence led to his injuries.

National Laundry owned the building that housed Knockers.

It tried unsuccessfully for summary judgment in the suit.

Matoesian denied the summary judgment moved in January.

Lutman is also currently involved in a 2011 legal malpractice suit against his former
attorney, John Leskera.

Lutman claims that Leskera botched two other legal matters related to Lutman's former interest in Sharky's Pub in Maryville.

Leskera moved recently to dismiss that suit for failure to state a claim.

Morgan Scroggins represents Skoklo.

Gerald Sims represents National Laundry.

No attorneys are listed for Lutman and Knockers or fellow defendant Paul Qualls.

The case is Madison case number 09-L-1119.
