Plaintiff claims intoxicated driver crossed center line

A man has filed suit against the allegedly intoxicated driver who he says struck his vehicle head-on.

Stephen Bobrowski claims he was driving a 2003 Dodge Neon east on West Vandalia in Edwardsville in April when defendant Jason T. Weber, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu west on the same road, crossed the center lane and collided with Bobrowski's vehicle.

Because of the collision, Bobrowski sustained severe and permanent injuries, suffered great pain and anguish and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed Feb. 4 in Madison County Circuit Court. In addition, he lost wages and sustained a damaged earning capacity, the suit states.

Weber negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to reduce his speed, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to see Bobrowski's vehicle, drove too fast and drove while intoxicated, the complaint says.

In his complaint, Bobrowski is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

He will be represented by Patrick G. Johnston of Johnston Law Offices in Edwardsville.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-114.
