A Sparta man is suing a Belleville woman who allegedly crashed her car into his.

Nolan T. Stunson filed the complaint against Betty Mensing Jan. 7 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Stunson says, in January 2009, he was driving through the intersection of Frank Scott Parkway and Illinois Route 161 in Belleville when Mensing, driving in the opposite direction, allegedly made a left turn in front of him. Stunson contends Mensing's failure to yield caused the crash.

Stunson accuses Mensing of negligence. His wife, Seania Stunson, is also suing for a loss of consortium. The couple is asking for at least $100,000 in damages along with court costs.

Attorney D. Jeffrey Ezra of Collinsville is representing the Stunsons.
